Chase Canopy, LLC is proud to announce that in celebration of Earth Day 2011 we are going green with our newest energy initiative!

In 1979 Chase Canopy, LLC was started by brothers Daniel & Andrew Chase, in the 33 years since we have grown into a full service event & party rental operation. Daniel explains that as the recession began we were very keen on cutting costs and began searching for ways to cut our energy bills. Being New England’s exclusive tent and sail washing facility; our energy requirements are high, even in the middle of winter.

In 2010 the state of Massachusetts became one of the eight states to offer a Solar Renewable Energy Credit program (SREC). This program, along with a rebate program offered by the federal government made it feasible for us to install on the roof of our tent washing warehouse a 65kw, 280-panel solar array that will completely cover our energy load, plus generate a little extra.

Solar Panels on Roof

Dan goes on to say “When I looked at the numbers proposed to us by local solar installer Munro Solar & Distribution Company, I thought ‘This is a win-win situation!’”. The installation will have paid for itself in 4.5 years and has an expected lifetime of 25 years. The project will have a positive cash flow from day one. Not only are we going green, we are going “off the grid” altogether! The excess power we will generate using the new solar installation has to be purchased by our local electrical provider. Over the life of the installation we will have eliminated over 1,200 tons of greenhouse gases, the equivalent of driving a hummer 1.5 million miles, or the fuel consumed by flying an airplane around the world 93 times. We are very excited by the idea of helping the environment, slashing our carbon footprint, and helping to control costs.

Click on this link to see how much electricity we are actually generating…….It’s amazing!!!!!

And away we go!!!!!

The New England wedding & event season has finally arrived & we are setting up tents again!

With a couple of beautiful spring-like days behind us now, and hopefully, the snow as well, I thought it would be a great time to start blogging about Chase Canopy. We have been busy in the off-season working on getting our equipment in tip-top shape, meeting with customers & garnering our relationships with other professionals. With our very own tent washing facility, we provide our customers with the cleanest & whitest tents available.

We are excited to be able to provide our expanded inventory of tent styles to our customers which now include the airy Tidewater Sailcloth Tents. Inspired by the sea, the Tidewater Sailcloth Tent has rapidly become the choice by brides and special event planners across North America. With nautical flair, the sculpted peaks and eaves combine to create an open air event space like nothing you’ve seen before. The translucence of the sail cloth fabric enhances daytime events with natural warm light, and positively glows when lit for evening gatherings. Sailcloth tents have become the newest rage in wedding tents. If you are looking for a rental tent that will leave your guests in amazement and cherish the memory of this wonderful day forever, this is the tent for you.

Last night Chase Canopy was proud to sponsor the Mariachi Los Camperos event at the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford. Chase provided the equipment, including a beautiful Navi-trac tent which was set-up in the middle of the street. There was dancing & singing & a good time was had by all in attendance. They sure have a lot of energy & really know how to get the crowd moving. Of course, what would a great Mariachi event be without the delicious enchiladas, quesadillas & margueritas…mmmmm

Today, the sun is shining with temps in the 50’s & our long cold snow-filled winter is only a memory…..we hope…

She proceeded to tell me that this was the location where they wanted to hold the dinner tent & went on to explain to me the look she wanted to achieve.

From there, we measured out the size of the tent we thought would work best for them. Knowing that the land had not been landscaped, I knew we would be able to create the best possible surface for tenting regardless of the weather because we were able to crown the land so as no water would cause an issue. We wanted to keep certain trees to accommodate the cleartop tent she wanted, so as to create the feeling of having a canopy of trees to dine under with a huge open air feel.

The look was accomplished this with the use of uplighting in strategically placed areas, which you can see by the picture, made a beautiful and long remembered event for their daughter.
